Lüneburg grew rich from salt – the so-called ‘white gold’ – which lies beneath the city’s old town. The city’s wealth can still be seen today in its buildings.

Our raccoons are looking forward to your visit! Set in the idyllic Örtze Valley, the wildlife park covers an area of over 10 hectares. The animals, most of which are native to the region, roam in natural enclosures criss-crossed by streams and ponds. On a tour of the park, visitors of all ages can explore the individual petting enclosures at their own pace via short, easy paths, or get up close to the animals during the flight displays and feeding sessions.

Spanning approximately 10,000 m², the German Tank Museum in Munster displays 150 large-scale exhibits: tanks, artillery pieces and vehicles – from 1917 to the present day. There are also many other exhibits, such as uniforms, medals, weapons, armoured vehicles, radio equipment and military toys. In the outdoor area, the walk-in M48 (Patton II) tank authentically conveys the feeling of confinement inside the tank and the importance of teamwork amongst the crew.

The Heide Himmel treetop walk is situated in the beautiful Lüneburg Heath Nature Park and offers visitors the chance to experience the beauty and diversity of the forest from a completely new perspective. At a height of 40 metres, the walkway stretches through the treetops and offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.
